Organisms in class Cephalaspidomorpha live in temperate, fresh or sea water. They are parasitic as adults, they will attach to fish and cut holes in their skin to feed. These organisms secrete anticoagulants to continue to have a fresh source of blood flow and food. The larvae of these organisms take six to seven years to mature into adults.
